Our visits to France give us some wonderful alone-together-time. However, on some holidays we have just as lovely a time by sharing the stay with friends, for part or all of our visit.

On this occasion, our travels took us first to Laniscat, a tiny village in Britanny, and then further south to about halfway down the western side, to Tonnay-Boutonne in the Poitou-Charentes area. The first gite was beautiful but tiny (Selwyn managed to nearly knock himself out on the beams more than once!); but the second one had enough room for company - so good friend Kim joined us for the inside of our second week. Visits to seaside towns and vineyards, sampling the local produce, leading Kim astray with Nutella and pate... a good time was most definitely had by all.
